Ink Journal ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our mobile application Ink Journal (the "App").
Information We Collect
We believe your journal entries are deeply personal and should remain private. Ink Journal is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- Journal Entries: All your journal entries, including text, photos, and mood data, are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this content.
- iCloud Sync: If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Information We Do Not Collect
Ink Journal does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Personal identification information
- Journal entries or content
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Location data
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
- Any data to third-party services
Data Storage
Your journal data is stored exclusively on your device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account. We use Apple's secure frameworks for data storage:
- Local Storage: Data is stored using iOS secure storage mechanisms on your device.
- iCloud: If enabled, data syncs through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is protected by your Apple ID credentials and Apple's encryption.
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Since all data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you maintain full control over your information. We recommend:
- Using a strong device passcode
- Enabling Face ID or Touch ID for app access
- Keeping your iOS software up to date
- Using a strong Apple ID password with two-factor authentication
Third-Party Services
Ink Journal does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Your data stays on your device and is never shared with external parties.
Children's Privacy
Ink Journal does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we do not collect any user data, there is no risk of children's data being collected or stored by us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you have complete control over your information. You can:
- Access all your data directly within the app
- Export your journal entries at any time
- Delete individual entries or all data from within the app
- Remove the app to delete all locally stored data
- Manage iCloud data through your Apple ID settings
